چکیده
Ensuring the correct functioning of quantum error correction (QEC) circuits is crucial to achieve fault tolerance in realistic processors subjected noise. The first checkpoint for a fully operational QEC circuit create genuine multipartite entanglement (GME) across all subsystems physical qubits. We introduce conditional witnessing technique certify GME that efficient number and, importantly, robust against experimental noise and imperfections. Specifically, we prove detection linear bipartitions by measurements also scales linearly, suffices GME. Moreover, our method goes beyond standard procedure separating state from convex hull biseparable states, yielding an improved finesse robustness compared previous techniques. apply noisy readout stabilizer operators distance-three topological color code its flag-based fault-tolerant version. In particular, subject combinations three types noise, namely, uniform depolarizing two-qubit gate bit-flip measurement numerically compare with standard, yet generally inefficient, fidelity test pair witnesses, verifying increased method. Last but not least, provide full translation analysis trapped-ion native set makes it suitable applications.12 MoreReceived 3 November 2020Accepted 5 March 2021DOI:https://doi.org/10.1103/PRXQuantum.2.020304Published American Physical Society under terms Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International license. Genuine Multipartite Entanglement without Multipartite Correlations.
Nonclassical correlations between measurement results make entanglement the essence of quantum physics and the main resource for quantum information applications. Surprisingly, there are n-particle states which do not exhibit n-partite correlations at all but still are genuinely n-partite entangled. We introduce a general construction principle for such states, implement them in a multiphoton e...
متن کاملCharacterizing Genuine Multipartite Entanglement in 2D Quantum Spin Lattices
We formulate an efficient method for characterizing and quantifying genuine multipartite entanglement in two-dimensional (2D) Heisenberg spin systems where the ground state is a large superposition obtained from nearest-neighbor dimer coverings on spin-1/2 lattices, the resonating valence bond (RVB) state. We find an analytical iterative method, the density matrix recursion method, to generate ...

We consider the problem of determining whether genuine multipartite entanglement was produced in an experiment, without relying on a characterization of the systems observed or of the measurements performed. We present an n-partite inequality that is satisfied by all correlations produced by measurements on biseparable quantum states, but which can be violated by n-partite entangled states, suc...
متن کاملExamining the dimensionality of genuine multipartite entanglement
Entanglement in high-dimensional many-body systems plays an increasingly vital role in the foundations and applications of quantum physics. In the present paper, we introduce a theoretical concept which allows to categorize multipartite states by the number of degrees of freedom being entangled. In this regard, we derive computable and experimentally friendly criteria for arbitrary multipartite...
